Cholinium-Based Ionic Liquids from Hydroxycinnamic Acids as New Promising Bioactive Agents: A Combined Experimental and Theoretical Investigation

چکیده

Cholinium-based ionic liquids (Cho-ILs) are very attractive compounds for medicinal and pharmaceutical applications as bioavailability enhancers in drug formulations active components ingredients. In this study, we synthesized six Cho-ILs from hydroxycinnamic acids (HCA) ([Cho][HCA] ILs), a group of bioactive with poor water solubility. [Cho][HCA] ILs their parent were evaluated solubility, thermal stability, antioxidant activity. Furthermore, screened cytotoxicity. To rationalize the experimental activities, density functional theory (DFT) calculations performed. The theoretical approach allowed identification most likely radical scavenging mechanisms involving HCAs corresponding forms under studied conditions to observed activity differences between salts acids. Overall, our results revealed higher solubility free-radical than HCAs, relatively high stability (melting temperature > 100 °C) negligible cytotoxicity DFT showed that both hydrogen atom transfer sequential proton loss electron occur aqueous ethanolic solutions. picture emerging supports increasingly expressed idea [Cho][HCA]ILs promising candidates formulation.

Cholinium-amino acid based ionic liquids: a new method of synthesis and physico-chemical characterization.

In the present work we report the synthesis and physico-chemical characterization in terms of the viscosity and density of a wide series of cholinium-amino acid based room temperature ionic liquids ([Ch][AA] RTILs). 18 different amino acids were used to obtain 14 room temperature ILs. Among the most common AAs, only valine did not form an RTIL but it is a liquid above 80 °C. With respect to the...

Ionic liquids from theoretical investigations.

Theoretical investigations of ionic liquids are reviewed. Three main cate-gories are discussed, i.e., static quantum chemical calculations (electronic structure methods), traditional molecular dynamics simulations and first-principles molecular dynamics simulations. Simple models are reviewed in brief.

Evaluation of Toxicity and Biodegradability of Cholinium Amino Acids Ionic Liquids

Cholinium amino acid ionic liquids ([Ch][AA] ILs), which are wholly composed of renewable biomaterials, have recently been demonstrated to have very promising properties for applications in organic synthesis and biomass pretreatment. In this work, the toxicity of these ILs toward enzymes and bacteria was assessed, and the effect of the anion on these properties is discussed. The inhibitory pote...

Insights on cholinium- and piperazinium-based ionic liquids under external electric fields: a molecular dynamics study.

The rotational and translational response of cholinium benzoate, cholinium salicylate, piperazinium benzoate, and piperazinium salicylate to static and dynamic external electric fields was studied using non-equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations. The existence of strong intrinsic electric fields in the studied fluids requires intensities larger than 0.25 V Å(-1) to obtain remarkable changes...
